Thank you to all who donated their spare change to the 2009 Calder Library penny collection. Through your generosity, we were able to raise $40.45 in pennies for United Way!
Our annual book sale was also a success. The proceeds from the booksale topped $940, all of which will go to support United Way.

Dear Reader,
This past Sunday the Calder Library promoted the consumer health website MedlinePlus at the South Dade Homestead Health Fair.
We had five people from the library staffing a booth next to the Registration and Check Out tables. We were able to distribute over 200 MedlinePlus pamphlets in Spanish, English, and Creole by individually talking with patients and promoting quality health information.
We also distributed MedlinePlus visors, pens, and hand sanitizers.
We even collected 14 surveys on patients' consumer health information habits and responses to the website. We're especially grateful to all those who made it a great fair!
