Title: Letter from Lindsay and Davis to Pepper and Potter, June 12, 1922, re timberlands in the Perrine Grant

Summary: The letter reads: "We have your notice regarding payments due on land in the Perrine Grant. When Mr. Davis arranged for this purchase he had in mind the price of timber stumpage at that time which made it to our advantage to pay the high price for the land. Immediately afterwards the lumber market went to pieces, and there has been no time since when we could afford to cut any of the lumber, and now the investment in the land is so large and the timber of so little value we are at a loss to know how we can handle the transaction and write to ask if there is any adjustment we could make by letting you retain a part of the land and allowing us to keep a part in proportion to the amount we have paid or will be able to pay for."
