Summary: Letter from Governor Bob Graham to Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Deptember 2, 1983, regarding the restoration of the Everglades, the first step of which was to ensure that the Governing Board of the South Florida Water Management District be committed to the program. The SFWMD agreed to purchase the 50,000-acre "Aerojet" tract in the East Everglades, and to acquire 32,000 acres of wetlands adjacent to the Everglades National Park. Graham hopes that the District will begin to restore the Kissimmee River by early 1984.
